Dog Treat Jars Decorated With Adhesive Craft Vinyl

Hello everyone!

It’s Amy with expressionsvinyl.com! I am excited to share with you one of my recent projects; dog treat jars. My source of inspiration for this project came from my husky named Chico. If you’re like me, I love adding a piece of my dog wherever I can. Today I bring you dog treat jars with a husky face, resembling Chico, plus two husky silhouettes. Let’s get started.

Here's everything I used in this project:

Supplies

I started with a basic image of a husky face and used Series 31 black adhesive vinyl for it. This image had nice clean lines that cut out perfectly.

Since Chico has those icy blue eyes, I went for the etched blue adhesive vinyl. However, the effect was a little bit too light and I wanted his eyes to pop out against the glass jar. What I did so solve that problem was to layer the etched blue vinyl on top of the same eye cut-out of reflective white adhesive vinyl.

The next step is very simple. Apply transfer tape to the black husky face and place it on the center of the first dog treat jar. Use the application tool to apply pressure so the vinylI just eye-balled the center and once the transfer tape was removed, I added the blue eyes. I used my Siser weeding tool to pick them off and place them in the center part of the eyes of the black vinyl.

I found an adorable silhouette of two huskies sitting next to each other. I love the effect this image had once it was cut out. It reminded me of Chico and his sister Bella. I also used Series 31 black adhesive vinyl for this image.

Same transfer method as before. Once the transfer tape has been removed, I added a splash of color. Since the eyes for this image is a lot smaller than the previous husky face, I added a blue heart placed in between the two huskies. For the heart I used Polished Metal sky blue adhesive vinyl. On the other side of this jar, I added the names, Chico & Bella using the same Polished Metal sky blue adhesive vinyl.

To finish off these dog treat jars, I used some the chrome adhesive vinyl to add a dog paw on the center of the jar lid. In addition, for each jar I labeled one “Chico’s Treat” and “Bella’s Treats” using the same adhesive silver foil vinyl.

And there you have it, personalized dog treat jars for you beloved pet!
