Diy Camp T Shirts

Diy Camp T Shirts

Hi Everyone - - Mandy here again from the fabulous Sugar Bee Crafts!

Today I'm talking (AGAIN! I can't get enough of it) about my favorite vinyl - - heat transfer, or iron-on, vinyl. I just love it and all the fun possibilities that come with it. I think most common is custom tshirts - - and along those lines, how about a group of custom tshirts...

Think of all those group things you're doing this summer - a family reunion, a vacation with the kids, a summer camp - all would be AWESOME with matching t shirts! A friend commented on these shirts "you guys really went all out for camp, professional printed shirts and all" - I had to tell her that I made the shirts :)

My mom and aunt put on "Grandma's Day Camp" each year, so I made the shirts for them. I designed the logo around their theme this year. I used a shape I had and then put the text on top of that shape, so as to use the negative space.

NUMBER 1 tip for using heat transfer vinyl - - YOU HAVE TO MIRROR YOUR IMAGE - when cutting, you lay the sheet down with the backside up (clear shiny side down). Since you are cutting from the back, you need to cut backwards. Mirror your image horizontally and you'll be good to go. I forget to do this almost every time, of course :) So be sure to have some extra vinyl on hand, just in case.

Last year I used Flocked Heat Transfer Vinyl and that turned out great too - -

So - - have a gathering this summer?? Make custom t shirts!
