Halloween Canvas

Halloween Canvas

This is Candace from Clearfield Designs. Halloween decorating is in full swing at my house! I wasn't to share with you a fun project my daughter and I made. Last year, I painted two 11x14 canvas's orange. I hated the way they turned out, but I couldn't throw them away. I tucked them in the back of my closet and forgot all about them. Last week, I was cleaning and I found them. It's funny when you put something away, pick it up a year later and can envision what you want to make with them!

I had my daughter rip up an bunch of old book pages and crinkle them. This gives a more weathered look. We then used Mod Podge and a sponge brush to glue the pages to the canvas. I put Mod Podge on the canvas a small section at a time, smoothed out the book pages onto the canvas, and applied more Mod Podge over the page. This is a very fun and easy process for kids to do.

After the pages were glued and dried, I applied another layer of Mod Podge to the entire canvas to seal everything.

Using the Cricut Craft Room and my Expression, I cut Black Outdoor Vinyl

I used outdoor so it would stick really good. The images I cut were from Oct. 31st Cricut Cartridge and Teresa Collins Chic and Scary Cricut Cartridge. The haunted house is from Oct. 31. The raven and the spider web are from Teresa Collins Chic and Scary cartridge.

I love how these turned out! They were fun to make, I up cycled old things, and they turned out great! I hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween!!!
