Holiday Treat Exchange Packaging And Easy Gifts

Hi everyone, Carol from The Answer Is Chocolate here to share a holiday idea with you. One of my girlfriends has a busy person’s treat exchange each year where you bring 5 things and leave with 5 things. I was trying to decide what to make and how to package it, and remembered I had some cups left over from my son’s HS graduation. With the HS name on them, their use was fairly limited.

But they were the perfect Christmas red so I decided to cover up the name with what else? Vinyl.

I cut five labels using my Silhouette. Then I grabbed some silver glitter vinyl and cut out reindeer using a manual die cutting machine. Before I applied the reindeer, I added a strip of candy cane striped washi tape and then finished with a red rhinestone nose and black and white ribbon bow.

Super easy and used things I had on hand. I’m a little obsessive about coordinating things so I used the same color vinyl as the focal for some little Christmas signs I made. I started out with some scrap wood my mother actually sent me in the mail. Yes, relatives send me their junk to make things with.

I painted the signs and crackled them. I decided to do “Joyeux Noel” ( Merry Christmas in French)

Sorry for the bad pic…it was a sunny day and couldn’t avoid the shadows.

When I’m doing letters, I always use transfer tape to make sure I get the letters as straight as possible.

I applied the vinyl to the signs and never content to leave anything alone, cut a branch and holly leaves from paper and Mod Podged those on. Then added some paper flowers I had in my stash and outlined the branch in glitter glue. Finished the whole thing with a silver pipe cleaner!

Now I just have to bake the chocolate butter cookies that are going in the treat cups! My plan is to put them in clear cello bags tied with a big red tulle bow.
