Puppet Show Update (No Cutter Required!)

Puppet Show Update (No Cutter Required!)

If you don't have a cutting machine yet (oh you will!!) then this project is for you. You can always hand-cut simple shapes out of vinyl, no cutter required.

I received a hand-me-down puppet theater that I knew would be perfect to give to my Kindergartner's teacher for the classroom (don' t worry, I checked, she's been wanting one). I wanted to spruce it up a little for them, and I knew vinyl would be the best way.

When I first saw I knew it was the perfect project to showcase patterned vinyl, and of course Expressions Vinyl carries lots of option. I went with patterned Vinyl. I originally planned on using vinyl on the front panel and then spraypainting the red panels black. But I wasn't sure how the spraypaint would do - - anyone used it before? I knew to get the plastic spraypaint, but even so, does it hold up well?

So I abandoned the spraypaint idea and stuck with what I know - vinyl! If you want to revamp any toys or furniture, it could be your answer. To cut it all I used was a cutting mat and blade - you can also just use scissors.

Then just stick it where you want it to go and press firmly. I started in the middle of the rectangle then smoothed out to the ends.

That's it! I'm in love with the front - it's perfect!

If you have something to transform with vinyl, go give it a try!!
