The 4th of July is one of my children's favorite holidays. It's right up there with Christmas. And they both beg for patriotic shirts! So this year I decided to make the kids a couple of shirts for the holiday and absolutely LOVE how they turned out!

The idea came to me one day and I knew they would be really fun and stylish shirts!

Instead of a traditional stripe, I decided to use chevron stripes! And I just think they are so super cute.

I laid out both of their shirt designs in the Silhouette Studio Software. I had previously downloaded both a chevron stripe and this cute star shape! I simply had to combine the designs to create this really fun flag!

I cut my son's designs out of the flocked heat transfer vinyl! It is great vinyl for a boy and my son loves how soft and fuzzy it is.

He literally hasn't taken it off for the last three days. True story! (Thankfully I managed to wash it one of those nights!)

I cut my daughter's design out of Expressions Vinyl's new glitter heat transfer vinyl! It is soooo sparkly and soooo pretty! Both my daughter and I LOVE how pretty this vinyl is!

I continue to love using vinyl for so many projects and am always amazed at the great selections that Expressions Vinyl carries! I haven't seen this Glitter Heat Transfer vinyl anywhere else and it is truly one of my favorite vinyls I've ever worked with!

Just a couple of hints:

• The glitter heat transfer vinyl is a little harder to weed, it will take a little time so be patient.
• Be sure to "mirror" your image prior to cutting it. I have cut heat transfer vinyl so many times, and if you follow me on facebook, you might have seen the other day that I totally forgot to do this! Yikes! Thankfully I had ordered the large piece of vinyl so I was able to cut my designs a second time. But man I hate it when I waste vinyl!

And most importantly, HAVE FUN! This vinyl is so much fun to play with so enjoy playing around with it!
