Revamp Your Furniture With Vinyl!

Revamp Your Furniture With Vinyl!

Hey guys! McKenzie from Girl Loves Glam here! We all have that one piece of furniture that we know needs a major facelift. In my case, I have several pieces. Well did you know you can give your furniture some TLC with vinyl? It is an easy, inexpensive alternative to refinishing your furniture. I have a dresser in my baby's nursery that didn't match the rest of her decor at all.

This is after! I still want to get some new knobs for it, but the vinyl made a HUGE difference. It went from an eye sore, to a focal piece in the room.

To do this, all you need is...

First, you need to decide what kind of design you want to put on your furniture. Do you want a chevron print, quartrefoil, houndstooth, polka dot, stripe, damask, etc. I chose a quartrefoil pattern. Then you need to measure your area and cut out your design.

Be sure to cut out a little more than your area, in case you make any slip ups, it is always nice to have a little extra.

Next, start applying your vinyl with your transfer tape onto your furniture.

I started at the top, left corner and worked my way over, making sure the edges matched up with the edges of the dresser. When you get to the knobs, use your razor blade to carefully cut the vinyl around it. At times, the vinyl will fold, making your pattern off a little bit, but all you need to do is use your razor blade to cut the vinyl so it lays flat and keeps the pattern going. Once your vinyl is on, trim the excess vinyl off the edges using your razor blade. Keep this vinyl. It is handy to have for smaller areas that need the pattern.

Repeat this over and over again until your furniture is covered. You will have a work of art, for a fraction of the cost!

Happy creating!
